I came to public accounting the long way around. Before opening Hogan CPA Firm, I spent nearly two decades managing financial operations for companies in the industrial and manufacturing sectors, leading real teams, negotiating with vendors, managing cash flow, and doing the kind of work most CPAs only ever see in a report.
That experience changed how I see a client's books. I've been in the room when invoices slipped past their payment terms and the early-pay discount disappeared. I've seen businesses absorb unnecessary processing fees because nobody had looked closely enough at how payments were being run. I've watched owners make decisions without real financial information because their statements existed but had never been explained to them. Understanding those problems from the inside is what I bring to every engagement.
Who I work with
My clients are mostly small and mid-size service businesses along the Gulf Coast: owners who are genuinely good at running their companies and who want a CPA they can actually get on the phone. Whether you need tax preparation, bookkeeping, financial compilation, fractional CFO support, or help with Multi-District Litigation matters, I'm set up to handle it. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Nicholls State University and an MBA from Tulane University.
On being reachable
Responsiveness is something I feel strongly about. The most common reason people leave their CPA is that they send an email and don't hear back for days — or at all. I know how much stress the IRS and tax season can create, and a big part of my job is making sure you're never navigating that alone. When you reach out, you'll hear from me.
